HAKATAN

Directly translating to “the little one,” the boutique bar/restaurant that is HaKatan may just be the smallest plot of real estate that Levinsky Market has to offer. It is here that you can find me sitting at the compact counter and dining alone (my favorite pastime), with an exclusive front row seat to chef Ido Kablan. After some friendly chit chat, I told Kablan how I couldn’t decide what to order because I wanted every listed dish. He thought I was kidding. And thus a friendship was born. For the record, the pictured albacore sashimi surpassed outstanding.

Tables placed smack dab in the middle of the road, heaters provided if need be, free chasers of arak served, pristine bites … moral of the story is that maybe size doesn’t matter.
